Code of conduct for Poinciana Cricket Club members and guests
All members and guests of this cricket club will:
• Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, color, parental or marital status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief.
• Not condone, or allow to go unchallenged, any form of discrimination if witnessed.
• Display high standards of behaviour.
• Promote the positive aspects of cricket, for example fair play.
• Encourage all participants to learn the Laws and rules and play within them, always respecting the decisions of match officials.
• Actively discourage unfair play, rule violations and arguing with match official.
• Recognize good performance not just match results.
• Members and guests include all members and officers of the cricket club and all guests of those members and officers, as well as all individuals who watch/attend/participate/ officiate in matches hosted by the club in whatever capacity.
• Ensure all membership dues are paid in full prior to the start of the season.
Players code of conduct for Poinciana Cricket Club
Players will adhere to the following codes of conduct:
• Players must be properly dressed during all scheduled league games (wearing the appropriate uniform for each form of the game).
• No player must attempt to adjust the fielding position of any player without the permission of the Captain and Bowler.
• No player is allowed to leave the park until the match is officially over (except for emergency situations)
• No player is allowed to leave the playing field or play without the Captain’s Permission.
• Players must ensure all dues are paid in full prior to their first game.
• Players must inform the selection committee two days prior to the scheduled game of their inability to play.
• No player under any condition is to argue with the umpire (Actively discourage unfair play and rule violations.)
• Players as participants of the sport must learn the laws and rules, and play within them always respecting the decisions of match officials.
• Players must display high standards of behaviour and act in a dignified manner whilst on the playing field.

• Players must acknowledge good performance not just match results.
• Players selected for matches must attend at the set time on match day and participate in the pre and post-match meeting. Any member who is late for games (without reasonable cause) will be disciplined by the Executive Board
• Players must not drink alcohol, smoke or use banned substances on the playing field before and during play. Violators will be suspended.
Failure to comply with the players codes of conduct will result in disciplinary actions taken against that player by the board of discipline.
Squad selection Squad selection will take place as follows:
The selection committee will announce its selection of players no later than the Wednesday preceding the game. The selection committee will also notify the selected players no later than the aforementioned Wednesday.
Executive Committee & Responsibilities
President:
The President's responsibilities include
Making sure all officers / appointees and committees perform their duties.
He is the Executive officer of all committees.
Appoint all committees and non-elected personnel.
Sign all level documents.
Vice - President:
The Vice -President's responsibilities include
Assumes the President's role in his absence.
Assumes the responsibilities imposed upon him by the President.
Treasurer:
The Treasurer's responsibilities include
Collecting all monies from membership dues, uniform and game day fees.
Record the receipt and turn over to the secretary for recording and banking.
Secretary:
The Secretary's responsibilities include
Correspondence
Bank all monies
Serve on committee's recommended by the President
Disciplinary Committee:
The disciplinary committee is to monitor the behaviour and practice of the members in order to fullfill one of the aspects of thier mission. It ensures that the behaviour of their members is flawless and that their deeds and actions respect the code of ethics. The President will have the final say on their recommendation.
Selection Committee:
This committee is responsible to select a team of 13 players from a pool of all available players. Their main focus is to pick a balanced team and to ensure that all selected players are financially in good standing with the club.
Grounds Committee:
The grounds committee's role is the preparation of the fields. When major repair is needed they are responsible for seeking help from the rest of the membership for assistance.
Code of Conduct Committee:
This committee outlines the behaviour expected from committee members and the membership at large.
Public Relations Officer:
This officer is responsible for managing the reputation of the cluib, he/she writes press releases, deals with press enquiries and sometimes manage crises. Responsibilities also include writing and editing leaflets, brochures, newsletters, websites and social media.
Training / Physio Role:
The role of the Physio / Trainer is to prepare warmups and exercises for players during practice sessions and also before all cricket matches.
Team Manager Role:
The responsibility of the Team Manader include
Sending out notices to the membership for the next scheduled match with details of such match.
Accumulate the available players and turn the list over to the selection committee.
After the seelction committee's final selection, the list is to be forwarded to the selected players via the club's WhatsApp.
Appoint a scorer for the match.
Attend all league meetings.
Captain's Role:
The responsibility of the Captain include
Has to be knowledgeable of the latest MCC laws and applicable playing conditions.
Arrive at the park in sufficient time to do his pregame responsibilities.
Be knowledgeable and follow the club's code of conduct guidelines.
Responsible for player's conduct on the field.
Take directions from the President.
Attend all league meetings.
Vice-Captain Role:
The Vice-Captain's responsibilities include
He is to assume all the responsibilities of the Captain in his absence.
Assumes any duty imposed upon him by the Captain.
